About us
Welcome, Redwood Empire Endurance Riders is a Northern California club of friends who share an interest in distance horses. Some of us want to cover miles and ride long distances, while others are interested in enjoying the day and sharing their experience with others on the trails in the redwood forests and along the ocean beaches. Some others enjoy just being with horses.
We host three sanctioned endurance rides each year with five days of riding. We start with the Chalk Rock Ride held over two days at the end of May on a private ranch near Bridgeville, California. In August, we host the one-day Redwood Ride on trails in Redwoods National and State Parks in Orick, California. We finish the season in early September with two days at the Cuneo Creek Ride in Humboldt Redwoods State Park near Weott, California. Some choose the fifty-mile distance and ride all day. All of our rides offer a shorter distance of twenty-five to thirty-five miles – a distance chosen by many. The three rides are sanctioned by the American Endurance Riding Conference.
Our club is open to all, and we will gladly show you some of our favorite trails, no matter whether you join us for one of our sanctioned rides or if you happen to be passing through with your horses and want to experience some of our local trails.
Annual membership is $25.00, $40.00 for families, and members receive five dollars per day discount on the sanctioned rides.
We love to share our trails, so contact us, and Let’s Ride!
