About us
Welcome! Redwood Empire Endurance Riders (REER) is a Northern California club of friends who share an interest in distance riding and horses. Some of us want to cover miles and ride long distances, while others are interested in enjoying the day and sharing their experience with others on the trails in the redwood forests and along the ocean beaches. Other friends enjoy just being with horses and club activities.
REER hosts three sanctioned endurance rides each year with five days of riding. The first ride of the season, Chalk Rock Ride, over two days during Memorial Weekend on a private ranch near Bridgeville, California. The second ride is a one-day event, Redwood Ride, on ancient redwood trails in Redwoods National and State Parks in Orick, California. We finish the season in early September with two days at the Cuneo Creek Ride in Humboldt Redwoods State Park near Weott, California. Some choose the 50-mile distance and ride all day. All events offer a shorter distance of 25 to 35-miles – a distance chosen by many. The three rides are sanctioned by the American Endurance Riding Conference and are featured on their ride calendar.
REER is open to all. Members will gladly show you some of our favorite trails, no matter whether enter one of the sanctioned rides or are just passing through with your horses and want to experience some of the local trails. FYI, Orick Fairgrounds and Cuneo Creek offer horse camps.
Annual membership is $25.00 for individuals and $40.00 for families. Members receive $5 per day discount on the sanctioned ride entries.
We love to share our trails, so contact us, and Let’s Ride!
